Kathy has a B.A. and M.A. in English and Certification in School District Administration.  While working toward her certification with the “Leadership Initiative for Tomorrow’s Schools” at SUNY Buffalo, Kathy took a one year sabbatical from her not-for-profit position to work side by side for six months with a high school principal at Lockport High School and six months with the superintendent at the Kenmore-Tonawanda Union Free School District (ranked as one of the most progressive districts in the country).

Her professional career has encompassed serving as CEO of numerous not-for-profit organizations including Big Brothers Big Sisters of Southwest Florida and the Niagara Frontier Industry Education Council in western New York.  She has taught and facilitated numerous workshops relative to her work in the not-for-profit sector, and as an adjunct professor both at the undergraduate and graduate levels in upstate New York and southwest Florida.   Currently, Kathy is the Executive Vice President for the Collier Building Industry Association.

Kathy is in her third term as school board member for the Collier County Public Schools and has received “Master Board Certification” through the Florida School Board Association.   She is also a graduate of Leadership Collier, Class of 2001 and Leadership Institute, Class of 2004.

As a founding member of the Youth Leadership Collier, she was honored by the Greater Naples Chamber of Commerce as one of five “Volunteers of the Year” in 2006.  In 1996, she received the Western New York Pathfinder Award from Business First for her work in developing partnerships between government, industry and education in the western New York region.
