Free & Reduced Meals
The School District of Collier County Nutrition Services Department serves nutritious meals each school day. Eligible children may get meals free or at a reduced price. All meals served meet nutrition standards as specified by the United States Department of Agriculture. If your child has been determined by a doctor to have a disability and this disability prevents the child from eating the regular school meal, the school will make any substitutions prescribed by a medical professional at no extra charge. Please find the Physician’s Request Form for Special Diets at: http://www.collierschools.com/foodservice/nutritioninfo.htm
If you now receive Food Stamps (SNAP) or TANF for your child, your child is eligible for free meals. You will receive a notice of your child's eligibility in the mail. If you do not want these benefits, you must notify the Department of Nutrition Services. If you do not receive this notice by August 19, 2013, you should fill out an application at that time. If the child you are applying for is a foster child and the legal responsibility of a welfare agency or court, please contact us at 239-377-0297.
WE CANNOT APPROVE AN APPLICATION THAT IS NOT COMPLETE. IF YOU CARE FOR A FOSTER CHILD, YOU DO NOT NEED TO FILL OUT A MEAL FORM, BUT YOU MUST CONTACT 239-377-0297 TO HAVE THIS CHILD APPROVED.The best way to apply for free and reduced meals is to apply online. If you encounter issues with the online application or unable to submit, please call 239-377-0297 or email firstname.lastname@example.org.
If you are unable to apply online, you may print the paper application in either English or Spanish and follow the instructions on the application to complete it. If you are unable to apply online or print the paper application, you may also apply at your child's school.
