Kevin Huelsman earned both his Bachelors and Masters Degrees from the University of Redlands in Southern California. He has also taken post graduate coursework at Bridgewater State University in Massachusetts. Mr. Huelsman and his family moved to Naples in 1999. Prior to coming to Naples, Kevin was a middle school principal for nine years. He was principal of Stone Middle School in Bourne, Massachusetts and Cyrus Pierce Middle School in Nantucket, Massachusetts. He was also the principal of Barstow Middle School in Southern California. Mr. Huelsman was the Dean of students at Gulfview Middle School for 1999-2000 school year. After leaving Gulfview, Mr. Huelsman served in a variety of capacities in the Collier County School District. He spent five years at the district office where he was responsible for the curriculum and instruction of all secondary schools. Mr. Huelsman rejoined the Gulfview family in January 2007 as the Principal. Mr. Huelsman enjoys reading, long walks on the beach and sailing. He has two grown sons and a daughter in high school. He is very happy to be at Gulfview, the best middle school in Florida! |

Mrs. Kristina Lee, Assistant Principal
Mrs. Lee earned her Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics and Secondary Education from Doane College, and earned her Master's Degree in Educational Leadership and Administration from Florida State University. She has taught both middle and high school math, and served as a Math Intervention Specialist in Collier County for four years.
Mrs. Lee moved to Florida in 2004, with her husband and two boys. Prior to coming to Florida, she lived in Nebraska, California, and England. Mrs. Lee enjoys spending time with her husband and children, going to the beach, traveling, and attending sporting events.
Mrs. Lee is privileged to serve Gulfview Middle School as Assistant Principal, working with a wonderful group of faculty, support staff, students, and parents. She is confident that this year will be full of new accomplishments, memorable activities, and exciting learning opportunities.
Rebecca Merhar-Dean
Rebecca Merhar earned her Bachelors degree in Psychology from Providence College, in Rhode Island. She earned her Masters of School Counseling degree from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., the Nation's Capitol! This past August, she earned her Educational Specialist degree in Educational Leadership from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and is currently working on her doctorate in Ed. Leadership at UF.
Before moving to the Sunshine State, Mrs. Merhar lived in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil where she taught for five years at the American School. She also taught in Atlanta, Georgia, Dar es Salaam, Tanzania, Africa and Arlington, Virginia.
Mrs. Merhar enjoys playing with her two sons, reading, and traveling. She is thrilled to have joined the Gulfview Middle School Panthers and looks forward to a successful year with the fabulous GVM students and faculty!
