Guest Teacher Requirements & Process:

All Guest teachers are required to have an associate's degree or higher.

New Guest Teacher requirements:

  • Complete the Instructional online application. Be sure to mark one of your preferences as “Guest Teacher” and provide a valid email address.
  • Provide 2 Professional references (within the past year).
  • Complete the Teacher Insight survey (Available at the end of the online application). Teacher Insight is an important component of the employment application and is a requirement for an instructional applicant.
  • Be 21 years of age.
  • Complete Sub Hub training. The fee is $25.
  • Complete SafeSchools Training.
  • Attend a new hire meeting.
  • Attend Orientation Training. The fees for trainings are $20.
  • Attend on-site training.  
  • Fingerprint and drug screening. The fee is $70 and you have the option of having the payment taken out of 3 checks.

Previous Guest/Contracted Teacher requirements (within the past year):

  • Have a current  Instructional online application (within the past year). Be sure email address is valid.
  • Provide 2 Professional references (within the past year).

  • Current fingerprint (if current – no fee)

Steps for Guest Teacher Instructional Applicants:

  1. Complete the online Instructional Application. Be sure you enter a valid email address.
  2. Complete the TeacherInsight survey (Available at the end of the online application).
  3. Provide 2 Professional References.
  4. Provide official transcripts.
  5. Once your application is complete, Human Resources will notify you of your status and the link for the on-line Sub Hub and SafeSchools online training.
  6. References will be checked and an interview will be conducted. Upon completion of the screening process, Human Resources will notify all applicants of their status in the process.
  7. Applicants who move forward in the process will be required to:
    • Make an appointment one week before new hire meeting for fingerprinting and drug screening. The fee is $70 and you have the option of having the payment taken out of 3 checks. The link to register for fingerprinting/drug screening will be emailed to you from Human Resources once you are able to move forward in the hiring process
    • Attend a half day new hire meeting to complete paperwork and be trained on the AESOP system.  Please bring original social security card for payroll purposes and valid driver’s license.  Information on the new hire meeting will be emailed to you.
    • Provide Sub Hub “Certificate of Completion” certificates for all 5 courses at the new hire meeting.
    • Provide SafeSchools Certificates at the new hire meeting.
    • Complete I-9 form and provide acceptable documentation at the new hire meeting.
    • If applicable ~ provide check or money order for orientation and training.
    • Applicant will attend a one day orientation and a one day on-site school training.  Information will be emailed to you

Meeting dates will be emailed to you once your completed application has been reviewed. Meetings are held each month.   Please refer any questions to Robbie Stanek at stanekro@collierschools.com

No one will be admitted to meetings without interview, fingerprinting, drug screening and Sub Hub training completed.  Do not register for fingerprinting/drug screening or new hire/orientation meetings until Human Resources clears you to move forward.

Applicant will be notified by email when they are cleared to begin Guest Teaching.
