Childhood memories are awesome and long lasting experiences. The fundamental goals of the Early childhood Education program is to provide you with the knowledge, wisdom and strategies of child development. Students are introduced and engaged with active learning that is developmentally appropriately. You will experience the fun of knowing how students learn individually and within group settings. You will have the opportunity to plan, implement and evaluate hand-on teaching/learning skills. One component of the Early childhood Education Program is the 30 hours mandated training required through the Department of Children and Family Services (DCF). Three of four adult students and two Immokalee High School students enrolled into the iTECH program during the 2009-2010 passed all the testing in the required areas of State and Local Rules and Regulations: Health, Safety, and Nutrition, Identifying and Reporting Child Abuse and Neglect, Child Growth and Development, and Behavioral Observation and Screening.
