Over a lifetime, GED graduates earn about $400,000 more than people without a diploma.

The GED test is a five part exam which includes science, social studies, mathematics, language arts-reading, and language arts-writing. You do not have to take the entire test all at once. You may study one subject at a time and test only on that subject.

The fee to take the entire test is $70; individual parts are $14 each. In some situations, there is financial assistance for those who qualify.

The entire test is administered in two nights. It begins at 5:30 p.m. and ends about 10:00 p.m. If you are taking the test in parts, you only need to be present for part(s) for which you registered.

iTECH has both day and evening GED classes with a variety of schedules to fit every lifestyle.

Classes are structured to fit a variety of needs and learning styles. The iTECH GED program offers small group instruction, one on one individualized instruction, and independent study using printed materials and computer technology. Study only the competencies you need to learn to pass the GED test.

Judge Mathis grew up in the housing projects in Detroit. He was involved in gangs. He spent time in jail. How did he pull himself out? He didn't just stop there though. He went on to college and law school, and he became the youngest superior court judge ever to serve in Michigan. Did he stop there? Program Description
Immokalee Technical Center’s GED program is designed to prepare students to pass the GED examination and earn their high school diploma. Florida State certified teachers instruct students in reading, language arts, essay writing, science, social studies, and mathematics using curriculum approved by the Florida Department of Education.  Students learn in a comfortable and friendly classroom-laboratory environment with state of the art technology, a wide variety of computer based and on-line content area programs, and up to date texts in all subject areas.  Small and large group lessons, individualized self-paced assignments, and computerized instruction all focus on the competencies students must know to be successful on the GED exam.  A GED fast-track program is available to those who qualify.

Preparation for Employment
Many employers require a high school diploma for employment.  Earning a GED is your ticket to a better job.

Q. How do I get started?
A. The first step to enrolling in your GED program is to visit iTECH’s Student Services Department where you will complete a registration form and receive an appointment for an evaluation that will determine your academic skills in reading, mathematics, and language. Once this is completed, you may begin your GED classes.

Q. What will class be like for me?
A. You will have your own individualized study plan and be able to learn in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere the competencies that you need to master in order to pass the GED test.

Q. What does "Residency for Tuition Purposes" mean?
A. It means you must prove that you have lived in Florida for the 12 consecutive months before your first day of enrollment in a Florida public school.

Q. I went to iTech last year. Does that mean I'm a Florida ?
A. You will have your own individualized study plan and be able to learn in a relaxed, friendly atmosphere the competencies that you need to master in order to pass the GED test.

Q. This is my first time at iTech. How do i prove I am a resident for tuition pruposes?
A.
► If you are at least 24 years old, you must provide two (2) documents from the Tier 1/ Tier 2 lists. One of those documents must be from Tier 1.
► If you are at least 24 years old, the documents must be in your parent/guardian's name, and your parent must sign a residency affidavit - unless you can prove that you are INDEPENDENT.
►All documents must be dated, issued, or filed twelve (12) months BEFORE the first day of enrollment.

Q. I am younger than 24 but I don't live with my parents. I want to bring my own Tier 1/Tier 2 documents. How can I prove that I am INDEPENDENT?
A. You must bring one of the following:
►Marriage License or Divorce Decree
► US Military Discharge Papers (DD214)
►Proof of at least $10,957 income (not including scholarships or financial aid) and not be claimed by another person on their taxes
►Have a dependent child and proof of DCF aid. Be a veteran of the United states military service (DD214 required)
►Be a ward of the state or project independence recipient

Q. What if I don't have the documents? Can I just pay $120 and enroll at iTech?
