Drama Club

The drama club meets on Tuesday and Wednesday of each week. The club runs from about 2:15-3:15. During this time student are playing drama games and performing skits as well as improvisation. As students become comfortable with performing we decide on a play to perform. Last year was our first year and students were in the play, “Alice in Wonderland”. This year our goal is to perform that play to Elementary school students. Towards the end of this year we will be practicing the play, “The Wizard of Oz”. This club is full of friendly students who are accepting of everyone here at Lely. This is a great environment, especially for students who are particularly shy. Many students come here not knowing anyone and leave with a ton of great friends

JROTC Raider Team

www.lelyjrotc.net *

The Lely High School JROTC Program offers different extracurricular activities. Raider Team, being one of them, is very physical. Raider Team members have a physical workout at each practice where emphasis on upper-body strength and cardiovascular fitness is made. Along with the everyday Physical Training, Team members work on individual events such as the Rope Bridge, First Aid, Land Navigation, 5k (three mile) runs, and the PT test. The workload of an average Raider Team member will prepare them for the various annual competitions against Raider Teams of other High Schools in Florida.

WRESTLING CLUB

We will learn the sport of folk style wrestling.   Rules, training and philosophy of the sport will be explored through technique and various training methods.
Hard Work = Success
Major emphasis will be on superb physical conditioning and clean living.  Planning, studying, and managing your time are keys to success.  Academics are important to wrestlers, We will stress education and work everyday.
Wrestling is very much like life: you reap what you sow. To be a Champion, we have to pay the price, we can’t win by just doing what is required during practice sessions.  We have to work extra: running, weight training, drilling, studying films, etc.  After wrestling, other things in life become easy.  We will be prepared for the real world.

Wrestling  aids in the development of the valuable qualities and traits that will last a lifetime.  Our wrestlers will interact with the many facets of the school; we will incorporate students within all departments to our wrestling program.
