Give Them Hope

MEDIA ADVISORY – “SEA GATE ELEMENTARY REACHES OUT TO HELP STUDENTS IN HAITI”

Sea Gate Elementary School (SGE) is proud to announce that through generous donations to their Give Them Hope fund, SGE will be able to support another year of education at Tete LeTang Primary School in Haiti.  Proceeds from dinner reservations for the SGE Give Them Hope Dinner, set for this evening (January 31) in the school’s cafeteria starting at 5:00 P.M., helped meet the goal needed to fund this additional school year for the children in Haiti.

You may remember that SGE students, staff, and parents participated in the production of the “Give them Hope” song and video in May 2010 – created in response to the devastating earthquake that struck Haiti earlier that year.  Later, in January 2011, Sea Gate Elementary gathered donations and presented the local charity, Hope for Haiti, a check to fully fund education for 237 students at Tete LeTang Primary School.  This made SGE the first school to reach out to another school in Haiti to support their education.

Tonight’s Give Them Hope Dinner is by pre-reservation only and will include dinner provided by Rene’s Custom Catering, student artwork on display, and the Sea Gate Ukulele Club performing for attendees.
