Safe & Drug Free Schools

Summer Camp Information

Welcome to Collier County School's Safe and Drug Free Schools web site. For more than ten years this department has served Collier County Schools and our community. The 1994 Safe and Drug Free Schools Act requires local school districts to provide a comprehensive drug and violence prevention program designed for all students and employees. With this statue in mind, it is the intent of our office to identify appropriate and effective resources to assist schools in strengthening their programs.

MISSION:
To provide resources which promote a safe, disciplined drug and violence free learning environment to enhance highest student achievement.

Drug FreeGOALS:

  • To reduce the number of alcohol, tobacco, and other drugs (ATOD)-related suspensions/expulsions in elementary and secondary schools.
  • To reduce the percentage of students reporting recent use of ATOD.
  • To increase students' knowledge of ATOD information and related issues.
  • To reduce the number of suspensions related to disrespect/defiance and other antisocial behaviors.
  • To increase the protective factors in the school environment which support and promote a safe, disciplined drug-free school environment.
